Ms. Perez is a partner in the firm of Hammond and Shinners, P.C. Her practice focuses on traditional labor, employment and employee benefit law, representing labor unions and individuals in the St. Louis metropolitan area, as well as union welfare and pension funds.
Ms. Perez received a B.A. in Sociology with an Employment Relations emphasis from Southern Illinois University in 2003, and a J.D. and Certificate in Employment Law from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2006, where she was a Dean’s Scholar.
Ms. Perez is admitted to practice in Missouri, Illinois, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS
Ms. Perez is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Section of Labor and Employment Law, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (“BAMSL”) and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Ms. Perez has served as a Co-Chair for the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law’s Annual Section Conference. She is an active member of the Section’s Committee on Practice and Procedure Under the National Labor Relations Act, and currently acts as the union program co-chair for the Committee. In addition, she is on the editorial board for the Committee’s BNA publication, How to Take a Case Before the NLRB. Ms. Perez is a past recipient of the Section’s Young Lawyer Fellowship.
Ms. Perez serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Women in Transition, a St. Louis-area nonprofit organization.
